Why Bwindi is the World's Best Gorilla Trekking Destination
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in southwestern Uganda is home to roughly half of the world's remaining mountain gorillas β approximately 459 individuals across 20 habituated family groups. This UNESCO World Heritage Site offers an unparalleled opportunity to spend one hour with these gentle giants in their natural habitat.
Unlike any other wildlife experience, gorilla trekking brings you face-to-face with creatures that share 98% of our DNA. The emotional connection visitors feel when locking eyes with a silverback is often described as life-changing.

Best Time for Gorilla Trekking
Dry Seasons (Best) - June to September β Clear skies, easier trekking conditions - December to February β Excellent visibility, less muddy trails
Wet Seasons (Budget-Friendly) - March to May β Heavier rains, but lower tourist numbers - October to November β Occasional showers, lush scenery
The gorillas can be tracked year-round. Wet season treks are more challenging but often more affordable, and the forest is at its most beautiful.
